We meet each month to educate ourselves, build bonds with each other, and carry out projects. See Calendar for monthly meeting dates -- always the second Tuesday of the month at 7 PM.
We are rebuilding historic Duncan Park, returning it to its status as a jewel of downtown.
We are working to attain H-1 (historic zoning) status for 367 properties in our neighborhood. See Improving our houses for more information.
We are renovating Miller House, a solid, historic house that was in disrepair and was causing problems on a residential block of Silver Maple Way. Miller House will become a duplex, to be rented to two families for at least five years. Plans are to sell the duplexes to owners through alliances with local home ownership service organizations.
Together with Kiddy Biddy Project, Inc., we host the annual Duncan Park 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament for neighbors 6 years old and up. The tournament takes place on three weekends in July.
We hold neighborhood cleanups at least annually, typically in conjunction with Great America Cleanup in April.
We do fund raising through yard sales and direct solicitations for support of improvement projects. With many local and national partners, we are planning a new, exciting Fund Raiser and Image Raiser for Fall, 2004.
We work informally (but energetically) with realtors to get new home owners into unused and under-used houses in our neighborhood.
